In response to countrylover regarding my last email (Bottle Banks 6 months on), I think he/she is right. We need to look at this problem from a different angle. It looks like people are all arguing about the same thing from differnt directions.
I for one, think its good to have bottle banks, where they are placed at the moment makes them a bit of an eyesore and I could understand from the postings, the frustration of the Village Hall Committee. So is there another more discreet location?
Alternatively who is responsible for keeping them tidy and what plans are in place to keep them tidy?
For responsibilities I suggest you look at the postings on "bottle banks 6 months on" it seems quite explanatory...if you have any doubts or questions please come along to, or ask for the item to be brought up at the Parish Council meeting, held on the 2nd Wednesday of every month.

Well, there are now signs attached onto the bottle banks, and a new green wheelie bin to dispose of the carrier bags etc that parishioners bring their bottles in.....WRONG! The bin is being filled with electrical items, materials, cardboard and a whole array of other things. Don't think this was quite what the Council(s) had in mind - unfortunately the eyesores will yet again have to removed by the village hall committee in order for the Village Christmas market entrance to look respectable.
Sorry for going on, but yet again a well known sentence using the words round, going, circles springs to mind, as does a familiar feel to those who will end up tidying the area of carpet, wheeled buggies, table lamps - Yep the green bin has really helped.
