I have heard in passing mention of BDC being approached with a view to obtaining some land to use as allotments for the villagers. Can anyone shed any light on this.

Didn't know there was any land available within the parish? I know it has been asked for as angenda Item at Decembers Parish Council meeting (2nd Wed in December, 7.00pm)

HI THANKS FOR THE REPLY I WASNT SURE THAT PEOPLE WERE ACTUALLY READING THE POSTS AS THERE ALWAYS SEEMS TO BE A LOT UNANSWERED. I AM GOING TO SPEAK TO THE LOCAL COUNCIL TO FIND OUT IF THERE ARE ANY PLANS TO ALLOCATE SPACE FOR ALLOTMENTS.

Oh, there are lots of readers, just not many repliers.

As far as I'm aware, if at least 10 people want allotments then the Parish Council has a duty to provide them. This may mean purchasing land within the village.

However, be prepared to be fobbed off with something in Retford.

A petition from residents went in, and a request to THE COUNCIL (though not sure which one) is pending. I only hope that when they find a plot of land, a clear and open system is used to decide which residents stand to get a plot! Some people have been asking the Parish for over 2 years!
